Rosenheim – KATHREIN Digital Systems GmbH, a leading specialist in reception technology and signal distribution, has successfully completed its insolvency proceedings. The proceedings were terminated by order of the Rosenheim District Court on February 28, 2026. The transfer of ownership to Megasat Holding GmbH took place as planned on March 1, 2026.
What makes this relaunch special: The new shareholder of KATHREIN DS is no stranger to the industry. Sven Melzer, founder and managing director of Megasat Werke GmbH, has his professional roots at KATHREIN and has been a successful entrepreneur in the sector for over 20 years. The management of KATHREIN DS remains in the hands of Andreas Wimmer and Michael Auer.

With the successful completion of the insolvency proceedings, KATHREIN will remain committed to the region as both a company and a brand: The company headquarters in Rosenheim and the logistics center in Ulm will be retained. The Ulm location, in particular, with its direct connection to the A8 motorway, is a key component of KATHREIN's consistently reliable delivery performance and will continue to operate as such.
