Tap or splitter? Many people ask themselves this question when setting up a satellite reception system or cable TV distribution. As a rule, distributors are usually used for satellite systems. Splitters, on the other hand, tend to be used for cable systems with a classic star distribution structure. With distributors, we differentiate between devices with and without diode decoupling. Distributors with an integrated diode are used, for example, in antenna systems where the direction of voltage flow must be specified.
